Random theme park I happened across outside of Madison, Wisconsin
Here’s some 4Runner porn from across the USA
Scenic, South Dakota
Highlight of the trip was some very light wheeling in Badlands national park. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to make as many stops as I would’ve liked to.

Truck drove great, although I think I have a pinhole leak somewhere in the cooling system, coolant disappears too fast for it to be a head gasket(but not so fast to cause a problem) and not be obvious(white smoke etc.). Guessing from the water pump, it doesn’t leak when it’s not running.

Fix it!!! The water pump is what took my precious headgaskets and heads.
On another note, I used 85 gallons of fuel to get from PA to FL, how painful was your fuel usage?

Complete failure or just didn’t notice a slow leak? I’m going to, this trip was just the first time I put serious enough mileage on it to diagnose problems(I’m not sure if I’m brave or stupid).

And on the gas...very. I was getting maybe 17, down to 15 if I was cruising at 80 instead of 70.

Seeing your photos make me really miss mine. I had a '94 in Evergreen about 7 years ago. Granted I used it as a mobile by-the-hour motel more than as a legitimate light duty adventure vehicle. But I had fun none the less.

I don’t know, I ignored checking and paid for it. Fix it now before it becomes a $2k problem. The cooling system isn’t really a weak point, but if it does become weak, you have a time bomb.
And I averaged 12. Once while up there I managed to average 2 mpg for an entire tank....

It also might be the heater core, I’m not positive but the one day I never moved the slider off all the way cold it didn’t leak at all but I don’t know if that’s correlation or causation and haven’t had time to really dive into it yet

Also how does one average 2? Off roading?

Just keep an eye on that and you should be good. Other than the gaskets, mine has been faultless other than the usual wear items.

It’s a ton of fun! I’m hoping when I’m back in Oregon permanently I can do a lot of trail exploring(lots of national forest with forest service roads and few rulez in Oregon)

Mine had a full rebuild 50k ago so once that’s resolved it should be pretty good. Maybe clutch eventually too, no clue when that was done last lol

Icey week, winter gas, and constant needed 4WD use due to ice.

Winter gas? This is my first time having a vehicle on the east coast and we don’t have real winters in Oregon

Could be lies I was told, but I was told the blend was different due to moisture caused by changing weather.
